What can TrialSchedule do that I can't already do with my current calendar?
TrialSchedule will (1) e-mail you or anyone you choose a notice of any upcoming
deadlines -- discovery cutoffs, experts reports, etc; (2) allow you to
collaberate with multiple lawyers and offices to maintain a schedule of
deadlines and a listing of lawyers assigned to certain tasks, perfect for mass
tort, class actions and other complex litigation, (3) store as attachments
copies of scheduling orders, case management orders, or any other case critical
documents you choose and (4) allow you to maintain a schedule of your critical
deadline dates (and documents) online where they can be accessed from any internet
connection.

Why do I need TrialSchedule?
TrialSchedule allows you to keep an eye on your long term deadlines, such as
discovery cut-off dates, expert report deadlines and trial dates. Most day to
day calendaring systems will only give you this information on a daily or weekly
reminder basis, along with lots of other reminders. They do not allow you to
'visualize' your upcoming deadlines.
-
How is TrialSchedule 'Visual'?
Studies show that visual comprehension is much better than 'textual' reading
comprehension. Reading words or dates on a page is considered 'auditory'
learning since although you see the words or dates, you comprehend them by
'hearing' them in your head. Any litigator who has ever presented a case to a
jury understands this principle and this is why good litigators use visuals
during their trials. This same concept allows you to quickly comprehend your
long term case deadlines with TrialSchedule, and where you stand on each case.
-
Will I use it long term?
We understand that a program will not be used day to day if it requires an
attorney to enter the information. TrialSchedule is designed as an office tool
that can be used by all levels of employees if desired. It is simple enough for
support staff to use on a regular basis just like they currently use Word,
WordPerfect, Outlook and other daily use programs.
-
Is it safe on the Internet?
Yes, yes, and yes. First, TrialSchedule can e-mail you (or anyone you request) a
PDF of your trial schedule each time you log off, so you can always have a paper
copy for peace of mind. Second, all TrialSchedule data resides on a secure,
dedicated database server separate from the web server, and guarded by multiple
layers of hardware and software security. Finally, TrialSchedule uses only the
highest level of encryption for all payment transactions, the same level used by
major e-commerce and financial websites such as Amazon, Google, PayPal,
Citibank, and Bank of America.

Who Created TrialSchedule?
TrialSchedule was designed by a trial litigator, and programmed by a software
veteran. Attorney Timothy Young, who has practiced maritime and personal injury
law for 15 years, designed the program. Like many busy litigators, he was always
hurrying and worrying to keep up with Federal and state deadlines. He spent
hours trying to create a TrialSchedule type chart using other more complicated
programs, only to become frustrated by the long complicated learning curve. Mr.
Young designed TrialSchedule to solve a specific problem.
The software was built by software veteran Rob Walling of The Numa Group. Mr.
Walling has over a decade of experience building secure, scalable, and performant
web applications in the San Francisco Bay Area and now on the East Coast. The
overriding goal was to make TrialSchedule powerful, yet intuitive and user
friendly.
